Double B Racin'

CONGRATULATIONS TO Matthew Bush & the Double B Racin' Team For Placing 16th OVERALL In The Point Standings for the 2005 Racing Season At Clarksville Speedway! The team managed to bring home the 16th place out of a field of 65 cars while only racing approximately two thirds of the season's points races!!
Like many youngsters, Matthew Bush has enjoyed races on TV. By the time he was in high school he was spending all of his weekends traveling from track to track as a member of the pit crew for a family friend who raced mini sprints. That is when the itch started that he just needed to scratch. In 1997 he bought his first single-cylinder mini sprint. As a full-time mechanic he was able to maintain the car. What he didn't know the older drivers were more than happy to share their knowledge and teach him. In only his 5th race as a owner/driver he placed in the top five in Carthage, TN which led him on his way to being named Rookie of the Year in 1997. As in any sport, the cars evolved. The single-cylinder was no longer competitive, so in 2000 Matthew purchased his #85 4-cylinder Multi. Within the first two races owning the multi, Matthew had taken another checker flag. Bush has competed with the O'Reilly UMSA Racing Series. Allowing him to travel throughout AL, MS & TN racing at several tracks in each state. On his off weekends Bush has also been known to compete in IL and KY with the NMMA (National Modified Midget Association.) The NMMA is where he began and Bush enjoys going back to see some of the other racers. The NMMA only maintains a point system total for the organization nationwide. Due to funding during this period, Bush was unable to compete fully and was not in contention for the top races in the national breakdown. However, he did stay competitive in the races he was able to attend. Within the 2 years of racing with the O'Reilly UMSA Racing Series, bush has accomplished a final finish in 2002 of 22nd out of 54 cars and 40th out of 65 cars in 2003 with only being able to run 2 races! 2004 was a great year as well finishing 7th overall in the series! 2005 Bush managed to pull out a 16th finish overall for the year out of a field of 65 cars while racing at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, TN. Bush will be, once again, taking his racing on the road in 2006! He will be traveling along with 2 performing artists from Nashville, TN (Joey Holiday & TC Bush) as they perform from coast to coast on Joey Holiday's Concrete Sea Tour. As they land for the weekend Bush will then take the center stage as he takes the track to "sling some dirt!"
